Largest provider of patient education does not value the individual

Pros

I love my team. On an individual contributor basis, everyone that is actually creating content is always thinking about the end user and how we can make the best possible product for the patient.

Cons

This company is a rat's nest of individual acquisitions masquerading as a cohesive brand. Upper management and the parent company (Internet Brands) have zero interest in employee buy-in, pay equity, or retention. All the usual corporate jargon is thrown around about how well the company is doing in sales and growth, but none of that trickles down to the individual. Transparency and communication regarding compensation, promotions, career growth, and your trajectory are negligible, if not actively repressed even from middle management. There is no company culture or interest in fostering a sense of belonging. Unfortunately, if you want any sort of career or contribution in patient education, there are not many other options anymore.

I wouldn’t recommend it

Pros

- there are still some good people working here (from Krames or Healthwise) - work life balance

Cons

- unideal company culture based only on company growth and being “the best” - constant fire drills making it hard to get any work done - the leadership style is different than anything I’ve seen before. Decisions made by leadership without input from anyone else or people doing the actual work - a mesh up of a bunch of different acquisitions with processes that are not streamlined whatsoever - not enough resources within the company since they let so many people go with acquisitions - low pay - high turnover

Pros

Coworkers who are good people and committed to producing high-quality work that truly educates and helps people.

Cons

A cut-throat. bottom-line-oriented company culture that rewards micro-managers who are very demanding and difficult to work for. Over time, employees no longer received any pay raises despite positive performance reviews. Employee pay rates are generally below average.
