“5-star Scarie Experience”

Pros

friendly cleaning auntie, convenient office location, clean toilets, friendly non-management colleagues, free samples, staff discount. “5-star experience” because you get to experience everything that was written in the previous reviews. “You don’t just get to read it, you get to feel it.”

Cons

The Sales Team had been waiting for their commission structure to be produced for the longest time, but still, nothing is cast in stone. The management says that the company has a lot of money, but when it comes to pay-related topics, don’t even think about it. If you managed to hit your target, good for you. Savour it because you will find them raising the target higher and higher so it’ll be even more difficult for you to get anything out of them. To some employees under Sales and still under probation, it’s probably best if you completed your probation before talking. Life in WL has just begun. Every good review here probably comes from the Marketing team. Trying to create a structure, but only one that will benefit them. You’ll find that you are on call even after office hours. Just because they are slow in making decisions, you have to deal with other stakeholders because of the delay. Admin staff is overworked. As with everyone else. Employees are resigning faster and faster. Quickest resignation - 1 day. - Don’t work too hard - Management will not appreciate it. - Don’t supply ideas too. They will tell you yours was not a good idea but will use it in the end. Country Head should be Head of Marketing, nothing more - no experience in FMCG before this position. Highly experienced in shifting blame.

Pros

there are none - pls. Stay AWAY.

Cons

- overheard conversations that hiring are based on certain nationality - slave driver environment - no training at all; business development pp are sent to be promoters, merchandisers and packers before promo campaigns cos they need pp. but salary damn low. Hello, you hire business development pp for what?? - china company. don't be fooled by the germany branding. it is a china company - no direction and the china boss thinks he can get away with hiring and firing at anytime he wants. - Labour Department (HK) & MOM (SG) should step in and investigate this company - China dictatorship, but management style heavily outdated - verbal abuse - The "mgmt" in Singapore office are not qualified at all. No experience and like to throw weight around. it is so clear. To all job seekers, please go and take temp jobs rather than join this company. It will only leave a black mark on your resume. Save yourself time, hassle, heartache and abuse (physically and mentally)

Pros

Cons

Ok. I tried my best to prolong the list of pros. Here comes the con. Have you wondered what it is like living in a hk drama tv series? Heres your chance! Join WL and your life will always be messy, uncoordinated and confirm last minute! So exciting right?! So the boss sitting in SG is quite senior. She probably has the most experience in this trade. She has been in this company for about 20 years now but only expanded beyond her single digit headcount in early 2020. her mentality is very solo, wants to save on every possible thing. If it costs something to the P&L, dont spend. Got data that company can buy but cost money? Don't buy. Let staff do out their research. Culturally everyone is friendly to one another. Inter department meals are common. But beyond that friendliness is a very dark sense of humour. One that encourages weekend past dinner time type of work text. Most work discussions are done via whatsapp. Not in meetings during your 9 to 6. Management will intrude on your after hours to ask u on a task they can ask during office hours. Burnout is very real. The ones that dont are waiting for the right opportunity. A better career move or waiting for PR status. The company hardly promotes anyone. Because no one stays that long. Because the industry knows about WL culture, most shy away unless they are being approached by a friend they know internally. But even this is not enough to cater to the vacancies available. So they hire non industry staff into the company. About 25% of new hire staff leave between 3 to 6 months. For those who did leave refuse to put WL in their CV. Because no prospective employee would believe such a company exists. You simply cannot explain and tell the truth about the company you are in. No prospective employer will believe you. But to future HR staff interviewing a WL employee, please read past reviews here and know that if he/she can survive beyond 6 months here, hes seen alot of things and probably can handle alot of multitasking with no work life balance and unsupportive bosses. He/she just came out of a warzone fighting uncoordinated mess. Oh and those good reviews that came randomly 1 after the other? Think again. How consistent has the good reviews been around vs the honest ones. Yea colleagues are nice. But the ones giving you the hardest time are not the colleagues. Its the bosses with their uncoordinated mess and threats to cancel your leave if something screws up midway. Have a look at linkedin if you are thinking of applying. Dont bother if you dont speak their language. Got a job? Don't come here. Don't have a job? Don't come here. U will have a dillemma whether to declare u worked here and why you left after a short time.
