Do Not Work Here

Pros

- Catered lunch once a week - Fully stocked kitchen - Great coworkers

Cons

- Constant lies (on everything, not just job security of which there is none), they promise that no one is let go or fired without warning, saying that "they'd absolutely see it coming" and then firing/letting go about 50% of their staff throughout 2022! - Execs don't understand that buying things like new game machines, donuts, pizza parties don't fix the deeply embedded problems within the studio - Sexist, condescending, negligent: Working here was the first time I ever truly, continually experienced sexism in the workplace. Execs continue to claim no understanding of why people say this and that there's no problem (hello, red flag!) - Inconsistent, they never practice what they preach and will lie about what they previously said to cover their behind. You will absolutely be at fault for mistakes that weren't your own. - No work/life balance, constantly needing/be asked to do work outside of work hours, contacted on days off, etc. - Disrespect, execs would constantly trash talk employees and then sweet talk them to their face. The list for cons is a lot longer than this, but I've blocked most of the bad out because all I want to remember from my time at this studio was the memories I made with the coworkers. But, just because the coworkers are great does NOT make up for all the bad. And there's a lot of it. Do not work here and don't listen to the 5-star reviews. Look how many people found the low-rated views helpful. THAT says something.

Not a great place to work or grow your career

Pros

- Four day work week every other week. - Great co-workers. - Catered lunches once a week.

Cons

- Very unprofessional hiring/layoff practices. - Sexual Discrimination against women - The Chief Business Officer and Chief Content Officer frequently take on tasks outside their roles that they have no experience in such as game design and game scope. This caused crunches, complete 180s in game design, and a project to be abandoned entirely. - Upper level management does not listen to feedback from producers, team leads/supervisors in regards to project planning or scoping. - The CEO surrounds himself with yes-men. - Company hates any reason to WFH even during in office covid outbreaks. - Majority of the studio is unhappy/frustrated with the CEO

Bad reviews are getting removed

Pros

Absolutely zero. There's a reason the average turnover is 3 months.

Cons

Be warned, they are removing any bad reviews and some of these good reviews read fake. Wonder Works is well known within the industry to be all about appearances while maintaining zero actual value. Management will tell you you're replaceable to your face while flaunting their newly bought yachts and buildings all over social media. Do not work here if you value your sanity.

Hi, we are disappointed to hear that you feel this way. We do not have the ability to remove reviews, they are only removed if Glassdoor deems them to be against community standards. In fact, we ask all employees to leave completely honest reviews, as we use them to address any concerns our employees have. We have never and will never tell someone they are replaceable, as this goes against the foundation of our workplace. Our aim is to always put people over profit, and to treat our employees as whole, complete individuals worthy of respect. We have zero percent turnover, as not a single employee has resigned. We also do not have any one in our office who owns a yacht, but we certainly wouldn't dissuade anyone from pursing whatever makes them happy. We would love to further discuss your concerns, please feel free to reach out to info@wonderworks.gg with any and all concerns. Thank you.
