A sinking ship...

Pros

Not many. The raw storage pricing is better than the big competitors (HDS, HP, EMC, Dell).

Cons

Senior management has no clue how to make a company successful, and frequently suffers from an overly inflated sense of the companies importance with respect to vendors, partners, etc.

Instability and irrelevance.

Pros

The product engineers are passionate and remarkably talented. The company has a legacy of hiring great talent and had some good success in the early days.

Cons

The company has gone through 10 CEOs in 14 years. The latest CEO brought in several new executives who negatively impacted the culture. The technology seems intriguing at first, but you soon realize that the lack of enterprise features makes it impractical for all but the most niche environments.

Thank you for your comments although I had to look at this several times to be absolutely sure it was from 2015 not 2014. I apologize for how long a response took but I've been slammed interviewing all of the great people who want to come work here since Bill Miller took over. Good advice - "transparency" is one of our core values and I think we demonstrate that through Bill's candid responses and "up-dates" on Yammer and at company meetings. The fact that Bill removed cubes at the front of the corporate office by the entry way and employee kitchen and set up his office there so he could be accessible to everyone is also a show transparency and accessibility - we're all in this together!. We love input submitted through Glassdoor and take it very seriously so we appreciate you taking the time to write and wish you good luck in your new job.

still going downhill ...

Pros

Neat new technology. Good Engineers. Nice building. Noisy equipment rooms. Big lunchroom/training/conference area.

Cons

Management style. No sales force. Insiders hired into positions. Politics between groups. Too long to get a big change through testing cycle. Difficulty getting permission to commit software changes. Average length of CEO tenure is 9 months. Longest 3 years. Kill all new products, start over with new CEO's theme.

Thank you for your input. We've focused heavily on transparency and collaboration since Bill Miller took over as CEO 18 months ago. A great number of employees have commented that cooperation between departments and the absence of politics has been a strong point at X-IO. We agree that selling and maintenance / customer satisfaction is a huge factor in a successful company. That's why we restructured the organization to focus on those 105 accounts that carry 80% of the revenue and developing the 17 partners that carry 80% of revenue as we moved to a channel only model. Again, thank you for your comments - we take all input seriously as we are looking to be the best we can be.
