      freedom, WFH, doing things at your own time

      Cons

      1) people only come to you when they need help, once they get what they need, you're out of their minds and the cycle repeats 2) incompetent management to manage internal affairs 3) low employee morale and motivation, you're just given work without knowing what plans lie for your development and managers are too busy with their own KPIs to take care of the people under them

      If you have nowhere to go to and like to be known as a "consultant" to start good dinner conversations with, why not?

      Expect little to zero guidance but full responsibility and consequences if tasks assigned to you are not completed on time and to the satisfaction of the originator
