Pros

You schedule your own visits so it can be quite flexible, and if you start early enough you can be home at a reasonable time. Schedules are consistent, so during term time you know where you'll be each day 95% of the time. Equipment provided is suitable for the job and is of a good standard. iCT4 is full of really good people and you can always have a laugh when on big jobs together. Work with a wide range of technologies which keeps things fairly interesting.

Cons

The company lacks clear processes in certain areas. It is often unclear who has responsibility of what. When asking a question, you'll mostly be directed to someone else, who will then direct you to another person, which can be very frustrating when you just need a quick answer. The process for arranging school hardware repairs is inconsistent, and will often depend who the customer is. Also, arranging warranty repairs via Dell is an absolute joke, though I appreciate this isn't necessarily iCT4's fault. The same goes for obtaining quotes for new hardware or software. There are several members of management who can put quotes together, but the time you'll be waiting for the quote to come back to you varies a lot. Sometimes you'll get the quote same day, some times you can be waiting up to a month. Not ideal when the customer is asking repeatedly for a quote or needs hardware urgently. As the face of the company, the field engineers often take the direct complaints from the customer in this regard. There is little to no training with regards to install jobs, and you're just sort of expected to know exactly what to do. Although I appreciate that it must be difficult for the company to find people who are both technically skilled at IT and good with going up and down ladders and installing infrastructure, as there can't be much overlap I imagine.

- The management is supportive of staff's personal growth. - Friendly team who are always willing to help each other out. - Job satisfaction by knowing I am making a difference to society (by supporting schools with their IT). Social Purpose is at the heart of the business vision.

Cons

- Fast paced industry, so there is a need to be proactive and able to adapt. - Remote working can sometimes cause mis-communication and makes good time management essential to most roles.
