Pros

-Monthly happy hour -Food -Fast paced environment -Sounds like a great place when interviewing

Cons

-Touts they were on Houston's best place to work list, but after you start working there, you learn that lobby employees to leave good reviews -Not against lying to employees or customers to protect the brand. Will even post fake reviews and responses to give the illusion that employees are happy. -Never takes responsibility for mistakes; instead always shifts the blame to external vendors -Absolutely no leadership -Company ran through fear and intimidation -Owners are long-time friends (they will always agree with each other) who surround themselves with "yes men" management -CTO is a brilliant technologist, but a lousy manager And one of the most troubling practices: -Management feels its acceptable to hire people from stable (long-term) positions and just fire them if they aren't a good fit. They have no concept (or care) how this impacts someone's family or business reputation when trying to move on from iLand's failed recruitment process.

iland continues to experience phenomenal, double-digit revenue growth, expanding into the Netherlands and Australia cloud markets this year, with more expansions to be announced in 2018. In 2017, we were listed in the Leaders quadrant of the Gartner Magic Quadrant for disaster recovery for a second consecutive year. This is not achieved by sheer luck, but rather through a leadership team with the vision to build and scale an incredibly intelligent, creative, and cohesive team of people with deep technical knowledge and extensive internet and cloud experience. Where other massive companies have failed in the delivery of cloud services, iland has shown that with a great work environment, interesting and ground-breaking projects, and great vision, it is possible to achieve what other companies are unable to do with near unlimited resources. We offer excellent and unique career opportunities, training and certifications, generous salary and benefits packages, and a fun work environment. If you want to have your voice heard and ideas listened to and feel like you are making a difference to a company’s growth, then iland is the place for you. iland is extremely employee focused. We go out of our way to help our employees if they are dealing with personal or family issues. Like any employer, we do have expectations that people will do the job that they are hired to do. We do frequent reviews and encourage employee feedback and participation to ensure our employees are on track and they know where they stand. One of iland’s core values is transparency. This translates across our entire ecosystem, from customers to employees to partners and beyond. Because of this, we are extremely focused on customer service and have a more than 96% customer satisfaction rating. iland is routinely audited to ensure that we are following documented processes and delivering the services we say we do. These audits are what have earned us numerous certifications, including ISO 27001, SOC2, HIPAA and more. When recruiting new employees, we seek the best of the best candidates, ensure that they are compatible with the company values, culture, and objectives, and are completely transparent as to what the role entails and the expectations of the job. Our process is very thorough, including testing, interviewing with several people in the company, background and security checks, and more. In summary, we encourage you to apply for positions at iland, speak to our people, and see for yourself the type of company we are and how we can help you grow your career.

Worst Company to work for

Pros

Free tacos every Friday monthly happy hour

Cons

So many to list. This company has zero work and life balance. Refused to train me for my day to day job and then blamed me for their failures. CTO is very technical but he is definitely not a manager, has his pets. The owners will not listen to you as they just worry about scamming other companies for their bad product. SLA promised to customers are never met but they put a blanket on it. So many things to list here

Pros

Have established good marketing relationships and partnerships that have helped the brand name that otherwise would be an unknown in an extremely crowded market.

Cons

Turnover rate is very high. This means the same work is often started over with every departure rather than actual progress which may can stall your efforts as well. As others mention any turnover is never communicated or explained which is very disconcerting. Review the tenure and titles of those who are no longer with the organization on LinkedIN to get an accurate picture of the turnover for yourself. This is certainly not a place for those who have more than a few years of experience. The company culture is filled with and run by fear, intimidation, and control. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.
