I filed an Employment Standards Act (ESA) claim against WebsiteTOON / Toon Group Inc because the employer, Justin Ong Merced, paid late on several occasions and never provided any vacation pay.
An employment standards officer concluded that WebsiteTOON violated multiple sections of the ESA. The employer paid late, never paid vacation, and committed a reprisal after I filed a claim. The officer determined I was entitled to vacation pay as well as compensation for emotional pain and suffering from their threat.
The officer issued WebsiteTOON an order to pay and a compliance order.
