Our colleague Noah made it to his dream job working as an autonomous driving engineer. The Technical Project Lead loves challenges of highly complicated projects, like autonomous vehicles, and is constantly searching for solutions. Currently he is working on our Continental Urban Mobility Experience (CUbE), an electric four-wheel autonomous vehicle used primarily for first- and last-mile transportation. It involves multi-disciplined projects, where electrical, safety, mechanical and computer engineers and many other professionals work together in order to move forward. Our Software Academy is celebrating its 2nd anniversary this year! The internal global online learning platform is available anytime and for every employee who wants to develop or expand their software competence. The academy is facing an extraordinarily increase in participants and completed trainings. More than 15,000 colleagues worldwide, among them almost 6,000 learners without software background, are active users of the Software Academy. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, classroom training around the globe was transferred into digital format last year – leading to a significant increase in the platform’s usage rate. Compared to 2019, with almost 11,000 completed trainings items, in 2020 we had more than 50,000 completed trainings. Our Software training catalog also nearly tripled in 2020, offering around 300 courses. Pioneering achievement: Digitalization and innovation are key elements for us – also in our finance department. Together with Siemens and Commerzbank, we have carried out a test transaction as part of a pilot project to process a money market security between the companies using #blockchain technology.
