How do we #savetomorrow? That’s a question that the #OCBCCares Environment Fund looks at each year when we call for ground-up, scalable climate action solutions. This year so far, we’ve funded 3 groups of youth. Their creative ideas will help lower CO2 emissions by preventing more food and fashion waste from entering our nation’s incinerators and landfills. If you, too, have a solution to lower our carbon footprints, you can still apply for the Fund. Applications are open until Dec 31. #OCBCCares #Savetomorrow
2020 looks to be a challenging year for the global economy, but our Chief Operating Officer Mr Ching Wei Hong says that investors and businesses should not be overly pessimistic, lest they miss out on interesting investment opportunities. However, they should stay vigilant, given the uncertainties looming over the horizon. At a separate discussion on global economic issues such as the US-China trade war, our Chief Economist Ms Selena Ling predicted that China will cement its lead in advanced manufacturing and technology. "It needs to build its own defences, and be so far in the lead that even the US has no chance of fighting back," she said. The Straits Times Global Outlook Forum is sponsored by OCBC Premier Banking.
