How do employees feel about their professional development opportunities at Citi?

      Citi reviews

      Good Place to work

      Quantitative analyst
      Former employee
      Warsaw, Masovia
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

The company offers ample opportunities for career advancement and skill development within a large, well-established organization with a strong market presence. Employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that enhances satisfaction, and the company encourages internal mobility, allowing for diverse experiences and personal growth.

      Cons

Success in securing a position may require fortuitous circumstances to be placed in an effective team. There can be a discrepancy between the responsibilities outlined in the job description and the actual tasks performed. It is not uncommon to encounter managers who may lack the necessary skills for their role.

Great Place, Could use better managers

      Kyc analyst
      Former employee
      Heredia
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Great Salary Good Benefits Very Interesting job

      Cons

Some managers are very unprofessional, they lack some management skills but still continue to get promoted without any proper training which creates a negative work enviroment for employees as you cannot relay on your manager to do their job which affects you directly. Same with SMEs, some seemed to be annoyed to be asked for help (which is their job), and they seemed to always have a different answer, if you got a bad instruction from them, the consequences fell on you, and they still continued to get promoted to different positions

      Business outlook

      Pros

Good Benefits, Good Volunteer Opportunities, Great Sick time and PTO to start out.

      Cons

Pay raises are meager and performance based, Even being the top performer in a department can still give you a $0.75 raise or less. New metrics added at least twice a year and even the good Team Leads can barely describe how they're calculated. It's a huge hit or miss on the TL's since you can either get one very caring about you and your growth or someone who want's only performance and can't empathize with you at all. Being forced to a new department is almost a guarantee where you handle tougher calls with minimal training, no pay change, and less time off phones since you're a jack of all trades. There is no real reason you can be picked to move either, a Colleague who has as much skill and more can still be in the base department despite them being a perfect fit to move. Easier for them to get pay raises and to move up since they don't have to adapt to the changes forced upon them without any real explanation.
