Pros
I am able to work from home in a hybrid position. I work from home week on and week off. This is ok. Others are given the option to work from home 100%, I have not been offered this. The insurance is fine and the retirement is fine too. the PTO is good, I earn 9.54 hours of PTO every 2 weeks.
Cons
I have been with the same office for 3 years, I am clerically 100% cross-trained from surgeries to prior authorizations and denials to incoming and outgoing referrals, and so on. I could bounce around this office wherever needed, whenever needed. My office views me as valuable given that when I have applied elsewhere they have asked me to please stay. I bring a lot to my team, in fact - I trained most of our team. That being said, after 3 years and getting several new job titles while gaining more and more experience, I am still paid the exact same amount as the front desk staff who have been here 6 months. When I get a raise, it is not because of my diligence, and they are given then same raise. While I am busy working multiple work queues and running circles around others, I watch front desk read books. If I have the knowledge to streamline patient care in every clerical scenario, you would think I would be compensated for that - but no. I am not alone in this. I have at least 1 coworker who is also cross-trained (I trained her) and is making the same amount as me, while also fully aware of other staff members being paid the same without the same training. If I could sit around reading books for the same pay, I would. In addition to that, our turnover rate is terrible. This is due to management. It is hard to find a good clinic with a healthy work environment. I am looking to move elsewhere at this point.
