Initial screening call with an interviewer mainly behavioral and motivational questions and an explanation of the role. Following this was a 1st stage interview with two members of the team including a senior consultant, some Fermi style questions asked, went through my CV line by line it felt like asking questions on each point. General questions about why consulting, why Actica, tell us about a trend in technology you are following etc. Following this was another stage which i believed to be the final stage with a senior director, interview was very pointless as the questions asked were almost identical to the previous stage. Was asked a case style question on how I would approach migrating an old tech system to a new one. Given explanation of the different business lines and asked to present a short PowerPoint on various briefs. Then received ANOTHER interview call, this time with the ex-CEO with more redundant questions asking me to explain my experiences and informing me that too many people had been shortlisted and there weren't enough offers, and that everything would now boil down to his decision... incredibly poor in my opinion that everything up to this point is now dependent on the face-level opinion of this individual. Finally after all this, I ended up received an offer which I later declined. A 4-stage interview process for a relatively average consulting firm in Guildford paying sub-standard salary is in my opinion, silly.
