A woman from American Express' human resources called me for a quick phone interview in order to get an intership with the company. The lady was polite and asked me some basic questions about my previous job experiences, my work at college and my interest for the company.
After the 10 minutes chat we made arragements for a interview at their local offices.

Interview
Online coding challenge, followed by an in person day in Brighton focusing on a team coding challenge. Great fun, loads of friendly interviewers and freedom to express your ideas. This way they can cover your coding skills, teamwork and usual behavioural questions.
I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at American Express (Hong Kong) in Mar 2026
Interview
Video Interview, very smooth but the preparation time is very short. Some questions are hard to answer but the limited time force me to answer quickly. There is only one chance for the interview. It can not be stop during the interview period.
Group interview with 5 other people, 30 min for excel in the end. Interview process was very smooth and easy, interviewers were nice. the group interview is the only real selection step after video interview
