Initial technical interview, questions about probability distributions, basic integration and differentiation. Questions on how to structure data analysis for problems, collecting data and classic data science questions around overfitting, and methods and reasons for regularisation.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Arca Blanca (London, England) in Nov 2020
Interview
I interviewed with AB in the Fall of 2020. It was by far the worst experience of my 7+ years career with a company.
First round with a fellow Data Scientist, it was not that bad, the guy was polite. Questions ranged from experience to drawing (virtually) derivatives, distributions, etc.
I passed to the second round where I spoke with what appeared to be a brilliant chief data scientist. In-depth questions, relentless back-to-back on various topics of ML.
Next round was with the CTO, which was extremely rude, not expressive and very vague questions around queries, that included live coding that I didn't do all that well.
All in all, I get the sense the culture in AB is not great and welcoming.
