      Sales Broker Interview

      17 May 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Bionic (London, England)

      Interview

I was head hunted by the recruitment team. They called me and I had a telephone interview which I passed. I then came in for a one to one interview which was fairly easy and at the end had to do an English and maths test. After the interview finished I was told that I was through to the next stage. The next stage was honestly a massive waste of time I had to sit on the office floor and listen in on current employees cold call people for 2 hours! The headset wasn't working and every time I mentioned this it seemed as if it was a problem. So I had to sit and stare at a wall for a huge majority of the time. They expect you to learn a script, while filling out a work sheet, while 'socialising' with the current employees, while having to overhear more than 200+ phone conversations going on in the background while there is super loud dance music in the background. I was not informed that the interview would go on for almost 4 hours or I would have at least brought myself some lunch so that my stomach didn't growl for the whole afternoon. After two hours of 'observation' I had the final part of the interview with two people asking me the same exact questions from the initial interview, and then I had to read out the script. They told me I was amazing and honestly put my hopes up for no reason. At least I did get a call of rejection, the reason I wasn't put through was because they found someone which fit in better.... There is a very typical dynamic in the office. White young males. If you are a woman good luck, and if you are of ethnic minority you may have a slight chance if you aren't a woman. I would just rather not be dragged along in the first place because it was very obvious from my name on my CV that I am not the demographic that they are after and I truly feel as if they call people like me in just practise their interview skills.

Thank you for leaving your feedback. It is very disappointing to see that you didn't have a great experience with us when you came in for your interview, our intention is to give every candidate the insight and experience of the role so that all candidates are able to make an informed decision if they were offered the opportunity. All candidates get the chance to see what the role entails and to get a good idea of what they would be doing if successful. We do appreciate that the final stage of the interview process can be quite lengthy and we do try to set the expectation before inviting candidates back. We are doing our best to ensure timelines are stuck to as much as possible. Very pleased to hear that you received great feedback within the interview, I have no doubt that the team leader believed that you were more than capable, due to the high interest in the position, we are unable to offer opportunities to all candidates that we meet with, this does lead to us making very tough decisions. Make It Cheaper pride ourselves on equal opportunities. I'm shocked to hear your views regarding the diversity within the business and can reassure you that discrimination is not tolerated in any stage of the interview process. I would be keen to discuss your feedback further and answer any questions and queries that you may have. Please feel free to contact the recruitment team on 0207 981 2742.
