Interview
Firstly I had some online tests to check my language level, how I would act in a situation when there’s a problem with guests and hotel and main aspects of personality.
The second step was receveing a call from a guy asking these typical questions like “tell me a situation in which working in a team was important, a difficult situation with a customer and how you handled it, what do you know about Booking.com, what can you bring to the company etc”.
Then, I was invited to a group interview, in which we started with language tests (very easy), a group activity (they give you a list of items you should analyse if a mothership landed on the moon and you get lost 200 miles from it, which ones you would pick to come back to the main ship, like oxygen, water, map, ropes etc. Next step: waiting a lot until the personal interview and role play: “why Booking.com? What’s important about customer service? Tell us a situation you solved the problem of a customer etc’”. About the role play, a guest arrived in the hotel and notice the room was horrible, very different from the pictures in the website. Solve the problem”. About four hours in total.
Next day I received another call with questions like “how would you convince I should visit your hometown”.

Interview
Disrespectful interview process. After passing the language test online, I was invited to an interview. When the time for the interview came, the first thing that the recruiter told me was that the position had already been filled and they wouldn't be conducting an interview, but they would take my details down for future opportunities. I had spent a great deal of time preparing for the interview and it wouldn't have been difficult for them to send an email or voicemail to let me know in advance that the position had already been filled. I found it extremely disrespectful. There is no need to be so blasé about how you treat people. I don't think they stopped for one minute to think about the time investment I had made for that interview. If that is how they treat interviewees then I would be very wary of how they treat their employees.

Question 1
What experience I have, where I live etc - they told me it wasn't a real interview since they had already hired who they wanted.
the interview process starts with a phone interview that lasts about 30 mins, informal to get to know you but make sure to make an impression, do your research on the company. then an in person panel interview + tour of the facility. they will also give you an assignment which you have to pass, and depending on what language you speak, an assignment to make sure you're fluent as well. whole process took a pretty long time, about a month.
