The process took 2 months. I interviewed at CGI in Jan 2021
Interview
Weirdest hiring process I’ve experienced. Applied in early January and heard back for initial interview in early March. Each interview took two weeks to hear back from and the process was slow considering there was two interviews. I was advised I would be able to choose the location I’d want to work for when receiving an offer. I ended up getting an offer for a city that was hours away and when I brought up their initial statement on location, they said they could try to pass my information to another location, but it would restart the entire interview process. Salary was also pretty low. I politely declined after receiving a much more reasonable and competitive offer. After doing so, the recruiter calls me two hours later to berate me for declining the offer. She tried blaming me for the location preference issue and was being very pushy. I ended up being very annoyed as I have the right to choose other offers that are a lot more competitive. Most uncomfortable interaction I’ve had in my professional career and very ironic that they were asking me to communicate more after they had been ghosting my emails or taking 3 days to respond to a simple question.
CGI scheduled the interview for 30 minutes and there was only one interviewer. He initially asked basic questions about background and experience. He explained about the company and was open to questions
Was super laid back and casual, the interviewer was super nice! Still had typical interview questions (describe a time where..., etc) but overall pretty stress-free first-round interview.
Lasted about 40-45 minutes as the interviewer was very conversational as well. Only advice I can give is to be personable and have a conversation.
I applied online. I interviewed at CGI in Oct 2025
Interview
Applied online, was told to connect with a recruiter at my university's job fair. They forwarded along my resume. There was a phone interview over Handshake. There was another interview with 2 parts (a technical and a personal) a few weeks later. The interviewer was around 10 minutes late with no communication which threw off the second interview. There was also supposed to be a Q&A the same day, but it got rescheduled to several weeks later. There was very little communication unless I initiated it. The whole process felt very unprofessional.
