I met one of the company leaders through a former colleague and we had an informational interview. Once they had an opportunity relevant to my skills, I had a phone interview and then an in-person interview with a panel that included two potential supervisors and an HR rep. Most questions were to the point and the conversation was not too-tightly focused on script, even though the panel definitely followed a standard set of questions. For the most part, it was a positive, human conversation, with one interviewer seeming negative and skeptical no matter what I said.
It would have been helpful to hear more about the specific position before being asked questions about my experience. I would have been able to tailor my answers a lot better had I known more about this specific job, the types and duration of projects this person would manage, etc.
