I applied online. I interviewed at Clarkston Consulting (Cary, NC) in Mar 2026
Interview
The interview felt much more like a conversation than a formal, structured interview. The interviewer was very welcoming and approachable, which made the overall experience feel comfortable and natural from the start. We began with a simple “tell me about yourself,” and then the discussion flowed into my past experiences, skills, and interests. Instead of feeling like I was being asked rigid questions, it felt like a genuine back-and-forth where I could share my story and elaborate on my experiences in a more authentic way. The conversational tone made it easy to connect my background to the role and have a meaningful discussion rather than just giving rehearsed answers.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Clarkston Consulting (Washington, DC) in Jan 2026
Interview
Five Steps w/ take home assignment: Intro, Technical, About Us, Tech/ Assignment review, Partner.
Long process that took over a month with holiday season in the middle. In the tech interviews I wasn't sure if they wanted a "consulting" answer or more of a traditional tech response.
I was disappointed that after hours of interviewing and take home assignment, I never recieved a "thanks for applying" response.

Question 1
How would you set up Databricks for a small but growing company?
The interview process was smooth and well-organized, including coding, technical, and behavioral rounds. Each stage was clearly communicated, thoughtfully structured, and provided a positive experience that allowed me to effectively demonstrate my skills and experience.
