I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at ConocoPhillips (Houston, TX) in Sept 2010
Interview
I did not like the personality test. Questions that don't have anything to do with your engineering skills- just having the right answer and being prepared for the curveballs. Why not a skills test? They show you a map of field locations you can go to for your first internship and when you don't act excited about them it is all over.
Interview was very Friendly, like a conversation. online interview that took about 1 hour. Normal HR behaviour based questions, no technical questions. With recruiter and the hiring manager. Just be yourself and show some confidence.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at ConocoPhillips (Aberdeen, Scotland) in Apr 2019
Interview
Submitted a CV through their website and then was invited to an assessment day. The company covered travel expenses. The assessment day was fairly standard consisting of group tasks, solo interview and a group presentation.

I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at ConocoPhillips in Oct 2013
Interview
Applied online and through the university career center. Talked to the recruiters at the job fair and also attended their info session.
The interview consisted of discussing my resume with several STAR style questions mixed in that helped further describe my resume and experiences. Be sure to prepare for these as they are looking for a bit of detail. There was one lady talking to me while another was writing down my responses and marking up a copy of my resume.
