      Project Manager Interview

      24 Feb 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Verona, WI
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Epic (Verona, WI) in Feb 2016

      Interview

The interview process was very lengthy. First, I applied online because it was a very easy application. I heard back very quickly and was asked to set up a phone interview. The phone interview was very brief (around 20 minutes) and consisted of basic resume questions and an overview of the company and more specifically, the position I was applying for. A couple of days after the phone interview, I received an email telling me that I was moving forward and that I would need to take a few online tests. This was definitely the worst part of the entire interview process. You had to take a bunch of different online tests, none of which were super difficult, but they make you take it through a third-party proctoring company called ProctorU. ProctorU was very slow and lost connection many times causing me to have to start the online tests over. All together, I probably spent about five hours on two separate occasions trying to get this step completed. A few days after completing the online tests, I received an email inviting me to fly out to the headquarters for a final interview. This was very easy to set up which was nice and everything during this trip was paid for by the company. I flew out on a Thursday night and stayed in a hotel in Madison. Friday morning, all of the recruits got in cabs to head over to Epic. My day started at 9am and lasted until around 3pm. The whole day consisted of two interviews, a group case study, a brief presentation of the company and software, a tour, lunch, and a 10-minute presentation. Nothing seemed to be too difficult although the presentation was a bit stressful for me just because they let you pick your own topic and don't really give you any guidance on what you should or shouldn't do. It was a very long day but it flew by and they really do a good job at making it as fun as possible. There were around 35 recruits there the day that I interviewed and a woman that works there said that it was a slow day compared to what they're used to. This surprised me but I was told we weren't all competing for one open position so that's important to keep in mind. I had my interview almost a week ago and I still haven't heard back but they told me it could take a week or two.

      Interview

Apply online. Sign up via emailed link for a 15m phone intro, and sign up for a round of 5 assessments that you have to take in one sitting (budget 2-3hrs). Then do the Rembrandt Profile Assessment (you don't get your results as they're PI) and that's about 40min. On the call you learn about Epic and the role, they make sure you're still interested, get your questions answered by a current PM on the team who's interviewing you, then get told your recruiter will reach out and you'll either move on, or move "on" kind of vibe.

The process is very intense. Three or more hours of explanation, exams, and a presentation I had to create. The exams were both logic games and a personality test. I was preparing for weeks.
