      Training Coordinator Interview

      7 Jan 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Denver, CO
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Fast Enterprises (Denver, CO) in Dec 2019

      Interview

I applied for the position in late November. Within a week I had an initial phone interview with an HR rep, as well as a phone interview with a current training coordinator a few days later. Both were pretty easy and straightforward. A few days later, I was invited to the Denver HQ for an in-person interview. They fly you out and pay for your hotel for the night, which is super nice. The weeks leading up to the interview, I had been reading all the Glassdoor interviews to prepare myself. I was taking IQ practice tests, learning brain teasers, and knew what my 5 minute lesson was going to be. Looking back, this could have been my downfall (being over-prepared). The day of the interview, everything went wonderfully. Myself and an implementation consultant were given a tour of the HQ, then I was taken to a room and given a 30 min IQ test. My test was taken directly from the Mensa website, and I had seen 28/30 of the questions before. So, it was very easy and I finished it in 10 minutes. I’m not bragging here, I honestly wish I did not know the answers, but I did. Then I was given a brain teaser that I was unfamiliar with, but was able to solve it fairly easily. I was asked regular behavioral type questions and although a few were difficult, I think I did well. For my 5 minute lesson, I taught a cool memory technique, which the interviewer seemed to enjoy. After the interview, I was taken out to a nice lunch with 2 implementation consultant candidates. After the interview, I felt amazing. I wrote handwritten thank you notes to the HR rep, the training coordinator who interviewed me, and the woman who took me out for lunch. I truly would have bet money on getting an offer, especially since I was taken out to lunch, and the Glassdoor interview reviews seemed to indicate that was a good sign. I was told I would hear back within 2 weeks. My interview was the week before Christmas, so I assumed there would be some delay, but I heard nothing. After 3 weeks, I reached out to HR to see if a decision had been made, and the next day received a general reply that they would not be moving forward with the process. I was shocked, to say the least. I still am. I truly cannot tell you where I went wrong, or why they didn’t offer me the position, and they didn’t tell me why either. I thought everything went so smoothly and perfectly. I am devastated, but of course there is nothing I can do at this point except apply for other positions in the future. Although my experience post-interview was negative, everything prior was a wonderful experience and everyone I met with was so kind. I was so ready and eager to work for this company. I had liked the FB page, I was researching locations where I might be sent and even looking at apartments in random cities like Macon, GA and Salem, OR. I felt like a Fastie, and I still do, even though I guess I’m not going to be one. I think the company is amazing and if you do have the opportunity to work here, I wish you the best.

      Interview

I applied through their job board and submitted my application. They got back to me very quickly for an interview, especially considering the job had been posted for months. The interview tested how you would approach a situation, asking questions about your resume, and determining if you were a good fit.
