I was referred to this position through a recruiter at a staffing firm. I had an initial phone screening with the recruiter. They asked about my experience and if I had skills that lined up with the role. She said I may be a good fit and would send in my resume to the hiring manager. This was a 1 year contract role.
After 3-5 days, the recruiter reached out to schedule an interview with a few engineers on the team.
Overall, this was the worst experience I've had interviewing. This was a video interview. I had my camera on. However, none of the interviewers had their cameras on. There was one engineer asking all the questions, and they were hostile towards me. At the start of the interview he asked me to describe what I thought the position entailed. After giving him a brief explanation, he said I was mostly wrong and then gave a similar description to what I said. This happened multiple times throughout the interview. I got the sense this would be a toxic workplace environment. Also the position was essentially a IT technician for their OTA automation lab where you would troubleshoot networking issues 90% of the time. I had a student job like this in college and did not need a degree.
They mentioned there would be a 2 hour follow up interview if I moved on.
After the interview ended, I withdrew my application. I have never left an interview with such distaste before this. I will be hesitant to explore any roles with Ford in the future.
