I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at HubSpot (Dublin, Dublin) in Dec 2025
Interview
Not one to write a review but if I have to share something on here it will be this. Overall it has been a negative experience at Hubspot with the recruiters. First time was a few years back - recruiter was meant to call and back then it was a popular company to get into so I was very excited and waited patiently for recruiter to call… emailed her 10 minutes in to see if our call was still going ahead and waited a total of 30 minutes for a no show. Funnily enough, a colleague from my company at the time just joined Hubspot as a recruiter and someone from my team told him about the incident so he pulled her on this and asked her why she didn’t call me as it was bad form. As a result, she reached back out a few days later and the call was rescheduled however it was a complete waste of time! It did not even feel like she was listening to me at all throughout, no proper screening. Never got onto next steps. Years go by, after living abroad and relocating home with extensive sales experience I thought why not be open minded and see what it’s like to work at Hubspot now. I got referred in and had a recruiter call soon after. I felt the exact same thing again, recruiter just let me talk about my experience but I didn’t feel like she was listening at all, and then at the end asked me questions which I already mentioned during my experience, and that was it. Few days later I got a regret email. Anyway, I’m thankful in a way, clearly not meant to be. I have no bitterness towards Hubspot itself (their loss ;) ), the ex colleague who referred me in likes working there as an AE, however personally have no appeal to ever apply again. My earlier career was in recruitment too so as someone previously trained how to screen candidates properly and know to make them feel, this wasn’t it. I also interviewed at Google the same time and the recruiter was x10 more attentive and had a very pleasant interview process.
Not sure if this was helpful, more so feedback to Hubspot on ensuring their recruiters are trained properly and providing a positive candidate experience. Hubspot has been my only company experience where a recruiter never showed up for a first round call and feeling lack of active listening and attentiveness during conversation so it is worth being said. Hope it improves for others and reduces wasting candidates time.

Interview with Manager (mock disco)
Interview with another Manager (mock solution presentation)
Interview with your Sales Director (pretty easy, be human, we talked about fishing)
The two managers you get can make or break you getting in as some are tougher than others.
Multiple meetings and material to review for your interview stages. Be prepared to take 5 hours out of your work day to join the interview prep calls and meetings. Total time dedicated to interviews and preparation time roughly 10 hours.

Super friendly people. Direct and they genuinely believe in adding strong people to their team. I had 2 rounds after which I was rejected.
It’s definitely a nice company to be at. They also encourage to keep trying.
