I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at HubSpot (Cambridge, MA) in Jun 2016
Interview
Week 1: Monday I received request to schedule phone screen. Phone screen was brief and introductory where I was asked technical questions, about my background and was given overview of HubSpot & the specific project. On the same day HR sent follow-up to schedule on-site interview.
Week 3: Monday - onsite interview. HR showed around the office space initially and then went through 4 round of interviews. There were a few design questions and a sorting problem with white-boarding. Interviewers were cool and friendly which imposed no stress during the process. Each round started with brief intro of both sides which gave enough time to get comfortable with people. Lastly had brief conclusive talk with HR and she mentioned they'd have feedback available by end of the week.
Week 3, 4: I sent follow-up email to HR - no reply. Tried calling HR - no reply to voicemail. Sent another last email - no reply till date.
Probably they'd decided to not hire even before interview was scheduled, but never showed courtesy to let the candidate know.
I applied through university. I interviewed at HubSpot (London, England)
Interview
I went through several rounds, including an initial screening, a technical assessment, and follow-up interviews. The process was well structured, but I found the technical part challenging because it required both problem-solving and clear communication under time pressure. The interviewers were professional, and the questions were relevant to the role. Although I did not receive an offer, the experience was still valuable and helped me understand the company’s expectations better.
Coding assessment with multiple levels. levels open up as you pass them. Time constraints looked tight. I could not get through all levels. It was related to Designing banking system.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at HubSpot (Dublin, Dublin)
Interview
Consists of an Online Assessment, followed by 3 rounds (2 System Design, 1 coding)
One of the System Design interviewer was less experienced (with an experienced shadow interviewer). I feel like they didn't drive it correctly, didn't ask me the right follow-up questions and eventually gave negative feedback.
