I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at HubSpot
Interview
Fair interview timeframe but once you move up in the interviewing process you’re given a project which you are to present at the final round. You are basically given a scenario much like one you’d have if you were in the role. Your job is to be creative but efficient in your problem solving skills.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe a time you dealt with a challenging client and how would you do things differently if that conversation resulted in client dissatisfaction.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at HubSpot (Boston, MA) in Jul 2015
Interview
After applying I was given a phone screen interview by one of their recruiters, Christiaan. Upon passing the screen, she setup a follow up interview with two leaders in the Services department and gave me advice on preparing for this next round of interviews. Interviewing with Frank and Annie from Services was great - they were very welcoming and gave me a lot of solid information about the team and their processes.
Afterwards I was setup for doing a phone customer roleplay exercise, where I would showcase my skills in handling clients and my knowledge of inbound marketing. It was an intense experience, but helpful in motivating me to bolster my knowledge of Hubspot and inbound marketing. Then finally I had a round of interviews with three managers who would possibly be my direct supervisor, preceded by a surprise case study that I had 30 minutes to complete. The case study exercise was a challenge and made sure I could think critically about interacting with clients and facilitating success for them.
Throughout the entire process, Christiaan acted as an advocate for me. She would provide advice for things to keep in mind, Hubspot materials to study, and give general advice for things to keep in mind. Everyone I interviewed with was warm and ended up contributing greatly to my understanding of things at Hubspot.
The interview process at Hubspot is definitely a big challenge, but it seems like they're genuinely striving to make it more humanizing and productive instead of a tense grind towards potential employment.

Question 1
Tell us about a time you overcame a client objection.
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at HubSpot (Sydney) in Aug 2020
Interview
After applying online I was contacted by HS's internal recruiter for Sydney. We arranged a time to call. After 20 minutes of questions about my experience we discussed salary expectations. We were way off, not in the same ball park and I was impressed that the recruiter called it there & then, showing great Transparancy, a key HS trait.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at HubSpot (Cambridge, MA) in Feb 2020
Interview
I had an initial phone screen and then met with the hiring manager. Both went well. I was asked the standard questions for an initial interview — mainly checking for mutual fit, previous work experience review etc. unfortunately, this was 2020 and the hiring process froze right there and I never heard back.
