I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Intercom (San Francisco, CA) in Oct 2016
Interview
I had a phone screen with recruiting and then a second call with the hiring manager.
It turned out to not be a fit. Bummer, what was remarkable is that I actually got a follow up call to let me know. I've never been so delighted to get 'flushed'. Haha. Seriously though it's refreshing to be treated like a person for once.
I applied online. I interviewed at Intercom in Sept 2025
Interview
The actual interview was OK, but they completely disappeared after. Obviously, it didn't go well, but there was no note, no formal closure of the process - nothing.
Given that I still invested time in the application, met with an HR specialist and then with a hiring manager, the total absence of the follow-up felt odd.

Question 1
Experience related to the job description mainly. The questions were fair and not tricky.
I applied through other source. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Intercom (Dublin, Dublin) in Jun 2023
Interview
I approached the hiring manager on LinkedIn to see if they’d consider transferable skills, they said yes ☺️ I made a portfolio, had a screening call with the recruiter, then spoke with the hiring manager. I passed those and worked on a case study. That went well so I got through to a final round of 1:1s. Overall the handling & communication was really smooth - recruitment seems like a well oiled machine. The people I spoke to were all very transparent, passionate about their work and generous with their time, too.

Question 1
How to keep a cohesive tone across different channels & audiences. How to handle conflicting stakeholder requests.
