I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Intercom (San Francisco, CA) in Jan 2018
Interview
I applied online and was asked to do a one-way video interview, which was strange at first but fairly easy to get through. Then I was contacted by the recruiter for a phone interview. She was very personable and easy to talk to. She answered all my questions and even responded to my follow up email. I spoke with the manager next and learned more about the role. Lots of behavioral questions but the recruiter told me beforehand to prep for and expect those types of questions. I was well informed throughout the process and enjoyed speaking to the team. Hope I can reapply soon.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Intercom (Chicago, IL) in Sept 2022
Interview
Intercom was nothing but incredibly supportive throughout the interview process! I was offered plenty of coaching and feedback, and was given plenty of time to ask questions. I felt like the entire team was on my side wanting me to get the job!

Question 1
Tell me about an experience you've had explaining a difficult concept to someone.
I applied online. I interviewed at Intercom (Dublin, Dublin) in Jun 2018
Interview
There are 4 rounds of interviews, a one way video interview first, followed by a phone interview with recruitment, a video chat with a customer support manager and then an on-site interview which consists of 4 30 min interviews back to back. Process itself is quite interesting, I’ve never been through a similar process before. I sadly didn’t receive an offer, was told this was down to nerves and confidence on the day, I feel however it’s quite unfair to be penalized on nerves considering the length intense process you need to go through!

Question 1
Why do you want to work here? (Lots of emphasis on this)
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Intercom
Interview
I filled the application online (CV+Cover Letter) and a recruiter got back to me within 1 week. The process was fast and the recruiter was really nice. I had to reply to 3 super simple questions and reply to 5 potential customer inquiries - I had 4 minutes to write down a reply to each inquiry. I was not expecting such technical questions in the inquiries but I believe if you prepare well and have relevant customer support experience you can easily pass at least this 1st phase.
