      Manager Interview

      17 Jun 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Los Angeles, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Metis Strategy (Los Angeles, CA) in Jun 2025

      Interview

Six weeks after applying online, I received an interview request. The interviewer seemed like a recently promoted Manager tasked with simpler, non-client tasks such as conducting interviews. She seemed unprepared and rushed. It became clear the she was not familiar with my resume or my prior experience in Big 4 consulting. After listening to her on her her 11-minute introduction, it became obvious that this is a company in its infancy and their employees are not at par with those in competing firms. To my surprise, the interviewer offered insights into the company's culture which did not promote the org as any competition to more established firms. The company mostly expands on their existing client relationships. It does not respond to rfps because it does not receive rfps. The interviewer explained that they're not seen as the primary go-to consultancy firm by most of their clients. Also, the interviewer revealed limited opportunities for training or skilling-up. Her comments about training boiled down to self-study or relying on YouTube videos. I'm reluctant to recommend this company even to those just coming out of college because the culture seemed hollow and lacks maturity. This company does not offer enough opportunities to establish a successful mindset to solve business-world problems.
