The recruitment process appeared to progress very slowly. After submitting my application, I did not receive any communication for several weeks, and the job posting itself had been removed. Unexpectedly, I was later invited to a screening interview.
The screening interview was brief. The discussion focused primarily on my current country of residence and whether I would be willing to relocate. Once it became clear that I was based in a country from which they were not seeking to hire, despite it also being within the EEA, the interviewer advised that, for efficiency, they would end the call early. This was somewhat surprising, as my CV clearly stated my location.
I was informed that I would receive a rejection email citing location as the reason, should I wish to apply again in the future. However, the rejection email I received instead referred to a mismatch in skills and experience. I then sent two emails requesting clarification and asking whether the rejection reason could be aligned with what had been discussed during the interview, but I received no response.
Overall, the experience felt disorganised and lacked clear communication.
