Surprise HR Call: THERE WAS A MISTAKE AND I AM STILL BEING CONSIDERED A CANDIDATE (!). (OK?!...) Normal conversation about the company and role, professional profinal match, availability, relocations, etc. All good until salary expections are asked.
Complete mismatch between the expected salary for this role and what they were willing to pay. There was never clear numbers presented by the HR that is instructed to keep this information confidêncial.
2nd guessing, they would pay within a range of €20-25k gross /year which is equivalent to €1160net/month, underpaid position for a Life Sciences professional that would have at least a MSc, if not a PhD. Position was for an on-site (only) post at Porto, Portugal, probably temporary (2years) and zero career development options. (BTW, €740.83 gross/month is the minimum wage in Portugal).
Desk rejection: 13th April (again!)
