I applied online. I interviewed at Saltegra Consulting in Jul 2025
Interview
The discovery call is chill. They are trying to ask about your background and how it relates to their values. It’s more of a getting-to-know-you stage before diving more on the in-depth interview and technical skills assessment which will be on the latter part of the hiring process
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked about my expectations with regards to working in a startup company, on compensation, and on the work environment.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Saltegra Consulting (Newport Beach, CA) in Oct 2023
Interview
I applied for the position in early August and pretty much immediately received a rejection email. In late September, I received a LinkedIn message asking if I was still interested in the position (they said that I was automatically sent a rejection email due to my lack of HAZOP experience). They sent a link I could use to schedule an initial zoom call to which I scheduled for the next week. I showed up to the scheduled time and no one showed up. I messaged them saying I was on the zoom meeting and waited for 15 minutes before leaving and didn’t receive a response. I messaged them again saying I rebooked another time and that I looked forward to hearing more about the position. They responded saying that time wouldn’t work because they were in a different time zone so they gave me another time.
After this initial call went over, they moved forward with a behavior/values interview which was scheduled a couple weeks later and that went over fine. I was then invited to complete a 3 part technical assessment that they assigned on a Tuesday at 2pm to be due that Thursday at 3pm. Because I was not available on that Thursday, I set aside a few hours that Wednesday to take the assessment. I confirmed my submission with them. The next Friday, their admin asked when I would be available the next week for my final interview. I promptly responded that I was available the Thursday and Friday of the next week. I didn’t hear from them until Thursday at 2pm when they sent me an invite for my final technical interview for 5pm that same day. They said it would be going over the answers of my technical assessment and to prepare accordingly. Due to the lack of notice, I let them know that I would not be available at that time and that hopefully we could reschedule. They rescheduled for the next Tuesday at 4pm and let me know that this interview would be 2 parts: going over my technical assessment and that I would need to prepare a presentation on whatever topic I wanted.
I put together a presentation for that Tuesday. I didn’t receive an invite link until about 15 minutes prior. I showed up to the final interview with 4-5 people interviewing me. They started by pulling up the blank questions from the technical assessment and asked me to answer them. I asked them if they had my answers since I had already set aside time to complete the assessment beforehand and I was told that this interview would just be going over my answers. At the moment, they didn’t have my answers so they asked me to move into my presentation while someone looked for my answers. So I proceeded with my presentation. By the end, no one could find my answers and they proposed that this portion of the interview be rescheduled. That was the last I heard from Saltegra (early November). I was offered a position elsewhere a few weeks later and accepted.

Prepare a presentation (including slides/visual aids) on any topic you are most passionate about, or you may also talk about a previous work experience/problem you have solved.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Saltegra Consulting (Los Angeles, CA) in May 2023
Interview
They reached out to me about the opportunity, the initial phone call and meeting with a recruiter/consultant went smoothly. Then for the next round I would have to put together a marketing strategy for branding and a sales strategy as well. They were very eager to move me into the hiring process as long as I completed the assignments in a 3-5 slide presentation. Would you ask a painter to paint a room to see if they know how to paint? No freebies from me. I am truly wondering if they are actually hiring for the position, as they don’t have any job postings on any career sites.
