Interviews went well for the most part - HR recruiter screening, then hiring manager call, then 2 peer interviews (potential colleagues), and the next round would have been an panel presentation. Spoke to HR, hiring manager and 2 peers. Basically 4 interviews back to back in a span of a month. The team was kind in terms of interviewing and very personable. Each call was basically a get-to-know-you call, talking about background, experience and what the role entails and why you chose this role, alongside some basic experience based questions. Had my peer interview and both folks said positive things and "recommending" to the next round. Didn't hear back from recruiter for a week, so I reached out to ask about some follow-up. No follow-up. Reached out one more time to not pester, yet no follow-up. 3 weeks after last interview and no follow-up from the team but just a "feedback survey" from ServiceNow. I mean, I understand these are large companies and lots of employees - but when people are dedicating their time and even giving more than 2 interviews, let alone 4, I think a proper "we will not be moving forward" or "sorry role is filled" or some sort of update is warranted. Companies are getting to comfortable ghosting clients in this economy. This is quite literally the job of the recruiter and there's no reciprocation of basic expectations when it comes to people looking for jobs and a hiring team.
Unfortunately left a bad taste in my mouth despite how great the team was when it came down to the conversations - but seems pretty sad when you are hit with an AI automated message after talking to a recruiter for weeks.
Do better guys, people are struggling looking for jobs and waiting desperately - the least you can do is say we're sorry or on to the next! Hoping it's better next time.
