I was really optimistic about the company and the role, but I can truly say that their interview process is a huge waste of time. I had an initial phone interview, followed by an in person interview and then was asked to come in again for another in person 45 minute presentation. I was to complete a software demo, answer multiple questions from a project guide and create everything myself. I spent hours on the presentation and was told that they wanted me to be more fluid and natural. That is a difficult expectation when I had to prepare for this over the holidays with little time, create my own demo of a SaaS product from scratch and hit all the points that your team asked for. My attention to detail essentially hindered me during the presentation portion because they were upset that i would occasionally look at my pres notes. The team waited over a week to tell me I didn’t get an offer and was misleading at the end of their process. I had multiple years of experience for the role, fit the exact criteria they wanted and they still couldn’t give me an opportunity to atleast tweak the demo or go over the feedback together. Instead, the recruiter strung me along longer than he should’ve. Once I didn’t receive the offer, I emailed my interview team and thanked them for the opportunity and explained a bit as to what their concerns were and my thoughts on the matter. It was a detailed and gracious email and not a single person from Sprout responded to me. I found that highly unprofessional and did not make me feel like my time was valued whatsoever. If these are the kinds of leaders they have there, then its certainly not a fit after all. I know it’s business, but I actually care about people, my clients and those that put in the time and effort around me. The process left a bad taste in my mouth.
