I interviewed for a senior VP-level role and had an initial conversation with an in-house recruiter. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations for a position at this level.
The compensation structure was a significant concern. The base salary aligned more closely with a Director-level role, and there was no clear upside through bonus or commission, which is highly unusual for a VP position and made the overall package feel misaligned with the scope of the role.
Additionally, the interview itself felt fairly disengaged. The recruiter’s approach came across as lackluster, with limited energy or enthusiasm, which made it difficult to get excited about the opportunity or the company. While I understand that the current market gives employers a strong position, the candidate experience still plays an important role in how a company is perceived.
Overall, it was not a particularly positive experience, and it left me with reservations about the organization. I hope this feedback is helpful in refining both the role positioning and the interview process.
I applied online and was invited to interview 2-3 days later. It resulted in a very pleasant Google Meets conversation that went over by several minutes. I have very solid experience in PR and felt like the interview went well. I was told that I would hear back about next steps by the following week. The interviewer did respond as promised, but let me know that I wasn't being advanced in the process. I appreciate their interest and get that I apparently wasn't what they wanted. But in the meantime, before / during / after my interview the agency has continued to re-post the position listing on multiple job sites. It makes me question ... if I wasn't a good candidate who couldn't even get past the first round, and they can't find someone qualified from the dozens of other applicants ... what exactly is their reason for posting and reposting the position?

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Stirista in May 2023
Interview
One recruiter interview, one interview with HR and hiring manager. The second interview went 15 minutes over which I thought was a good sign- I was ghosted. Never heard back.
