This was hands down the most unprofessional hiring process I have ever experienced, spanning four months total.
I was contacted on December 5, 2025 for an interview for a backfill role at Chick-fil-A, and was told the team was looking to move quickly. I interviewed with Ashley Ray-Lemmons on December 11 and received positive feedback. The very next day, I was asked to provide references, which felt premature, but I complied. Those references were contacted and also received positively.
Then came the silence. After weeks of "we are still waiting" updates, I was asked on February 2, 2026 to complete a design test. I did, and then reviewed my work with Peyton Wesolowski at Chick-fil-A, who told me I had "crushed the assignment". When I asked about next steps, she was unable to give me a clear answer.
Two more months passed with no meaningful updates. On April 1, 2026, I was informed by Stratfield that Chick-fil-A had decided to dissolve the position entirely and would not be hiring anyone.
My time was wasted. My references' time was wasted. And throughout the process, I was given just enough positive feedback to maintain false hope. Four months, multiple rounds of effort, and nothing to show for it.
