The interview process was fairly painless. It started with an initial phone screen which led to subsequent virtual interviews with three different people. Following the final interview I was contacted within a week with an offer for employment.
The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Toffler Associates
Interview
I applied to Toffler and was invited to interview two months later. It seemed a little odd that they took so long to follow up for a role that they appear to be actively hiring for almost all of the time. I did an an initial phone screening with HR, and then did a second interview with one of the senior associates. I was invited for a third interview, which was rescheduled, which meant that from the first interview to the third, it had been nearly 7 weeks. The interviews were very straightforward and included standard consulting-related questions and behavioral questions, but the interviewers always seemed distracted (checking their phone, repeatedly losing their train of thought, etc). After having received offers from other firms, I asked them regarding the status of my candidacy. They took a week just to tell me that they are actually not hiring for another four+ months. For all the emphasis on being “future focused”, they don’t seem to know their own. The content of the role and the firm aside, I found this entire process very unprofessional and quite frankly a waste of my time as a candidate. Even if you are interested in consulting, I think it’s important to know what you are getting yourself into even in the application phase alone.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a time when you overcame a challenge at work.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Toffler Associates in Nov 2015
Interview
Very informal and personal. They describe it as "courting" potential candidates before they have actual positions to fill. I met with 3 different people and asked more questions than they did. They were very open and engaging, and it was helpful to have 3 different perspectives.
