      Interview

Phone screen. Direct leadership call with SLT manager, then peer and direct reports interviews. Overall pretty standard process, a mix of management, technology, architecture, and collaboration. If you can speak to systems e2e, your management experience, and your ability to grow teams - you should be good to go.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Uber in Jun 2016

      Interview

I saw this opening on LinkedIn and applied online, an Uber recruiter contacted me pretty soon and asked some basic questions. He was nice but the process is not smooth. Our first call run into a little problem and he simply canceled it. We got to speak to each other after reschedule it a few days later. The conversation with the recruiter is very brief, 20 minutes or so and I was moved to next stage. The next interviewer is an engineering manager, he also asked only some basic questions and told me the phone screen went well. He gave me a homework assignment and he asked me not to spend more than 10 hours to finish. Boy! The homework is really something "tough", I mean you need to spend a lot of time to just have a frame work, not to mention I was asked to code and implement it all. I spent at least 20 hours to finish and document the project. The I submitted it via a website, without a chance to explain my work to them. No news for a few weeks and then got a nice worded rejection email.
