I applied through Uber website. Couple weeks later I was contacted via e-mail for a HR recruiter.
He asked me to schedule a Zoom conversation with him in his online schedule manager.
I just got a spot for two weeks later. 30 minutes before de conversation I received an email cancelling it. I had to reschedule for 2 weeks later, again.
That time we had the talk. We talked (most in English), he asked about my experiences and we had a little case study. Afterwards, he told me he was going to recomend me to move on.
Later that day I received a link to make de Analytical Test and the instruction that finish it before weekend "would be great".
I did it, informed him, and had no answer for over a month.
When I heard from them, I was informed I had passed the test, and they scheduled me to an interview with a Sr. Manager.
The Interview was on Sao Paulo Uber Headquarters. A 45 minutes interview.
I couldn't tell the reason, but I could never reach to the manager, who, although very professional, at all times seemed a little off.
The interview consisted on my background history, he asked for a project I made that I was proud of, the infamous question "Why Uber?", what I do with analycal analysis in a daily basis in my actual job, and then a curious case study:
In a given month, Uber had 100k people doing the first signup to be partner drivers, but only 5k of them made the first trip as a driver. How would you increase this 5k number?
When I got out of there, I wasn't very confident, there was never an empathy with the Manager.
Confirming my impression, the next day I got an standard email saying they "decided to go in another way".
