I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Uber (Santa Barbara, CA) in Oct 2014
Interview
The interview was essentially non-existent; basically, you have to submit the required paperwork, pass a background check, and have a functioning car. This makes it rather straightforward to get a job through them, but does allow for some, ah, characters to become drivers. Most of the process is automated, and there is little interaction with actual humans. There is a support system to help move the process along, but if you don't meet the criteria, there is no job waiting.
was pretty straightforward. Provided documentation and that was the brunt of it I think unless more is planning to come at some point doen the line. over all it was a pleasant experience and i'm looking forward to driving around
Asked me questions about my vehicle such as for information regarding the year, make, and model, as well as asking for information on my address, my name, whether I’m a student, etc.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Uber
