I applied online. I interviewed at Vista Consulting Group
Interview
The interview process was challenging and highly technical, with in-depth questions focused on problem-solving, analytical thinking, and industry knowledge. It required strong preparation, attention to detail, and clear communication throughout.
I interviewed at Vista Consulting Group (Chicago, IL)
Interview
The interview process consisted of three rounds of interviews. 1. An an initial phone screen with the recruiter 2. a more detailed interview over the phone and finally, 3. an in-person round of behavioral interviews (met with four current employees)
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Vista Consulting Group in Jun 2023
Interview
1) Call with recruiter, she wasn't the friendliest. 2) Case interview with one of the hiring managers. He was really great and enthusiastic, got me a lot more excited about the position. Case study was McKinsey style, not bad, 3) Case interview with another hiring manager. This one was harder, you have to look at a spreadsheet from a screenshare and come up with reasons why the portco isn't growing. Then a quant problem, which isn't too bad. 4) Would have been a call further discussing culture, but I didn't get that far. I would've said it was an overall good experience except for how things ended. The 2nd manager I interviewed with said I'd be moving on, but then I ended up with a rejection email. It's fine if I'm not a good fit, but don't get my hopes up then end things with an automated rejection. Also, the recruiter was really rude at every stage. I don't understand how they never have any consequences for their behavior.
