      Customer Service Representative Interview

      1 Jul 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Bloomington, MN
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at WTW (Bloomington, MN) in Apr 2011

      Interview

Overall my interview was about 30 min. They spoke to the culture of the company and the location. I was asked a series of question around my ability to multitask in a very fun and light-hearted way. I met with 2 people and they sort of played off each other asking different side of each question. They did ask what weakness was. Due to the growth of the company the interview process has evolved so I cant speak much to how the process currently is. Typically CSR jobs are given to contractors after about 11-12 months of service. Typically they hire 20-30 contractors for a few different lines of business just before OE. CSR that show they have talent or potential are typically offered full time position about 11-12 month later. I think interviews are done my the manager for that line of business and a client lead may be in the interviewing process as well. Candidates where suits to the interview, however, the person interviewing them most likely will be dressing in gym shoes and jeans. I have heard of CSR being hired on because they were referred by employee. TW is big on résumé and candidates that can sell their skills. even now I still keep my skills sharp and stay on top of ways to get better so I am not replaced. The turn over is sick around here. I work in a row of 8 CSR and there are only 2 of us left. This is due to the CSR making to many error, attendance or being over qualified for this job. Because they cut hours during the off seasons a lot of good talent is lost. In closing I would like to say this job is rewarding financially but I had to really prove myself in the interview and even now I make myself available to assist with projects and ask for more work to maintain my value. This can be a competitive department. There is a nice support system and they really hone in on what you need to do to get better at this job and if asked they will advise on how to become an associate. My team lead told me exactly what to do to get hired I stuck to our plan and here I am 4 years later still at it. Last tip taking constructive criticism is a must around here, work is scrutinized and attention to detail is a must.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Can you multitask, how do you handle stress, can you deescalate irate callers. Do have a benefits background, how fast do you learn, are you in it for the long hall or short term. Are you in school. what kind of education do you have. Why do you want to work here. What makes you a good fit. Name one area you need to improve on.

      Interview

Only three interviews all together. It was clear why I wasn’t selected but seems like a decent company that still allows WFH. I met with someone over the phone then transitioned to zoom interviews. Meeting with two people at a time from the team.
