      Financial Solutions Advisor Interview

      18 Jul 2017
      Anonymous employee
      Charlotte, NC
      Accepted offer

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Wells Fargo (Charlotte, NC) in Jul 2017

      Interview

This is a very in depth process. Process started in April and didn't get hired until July. The job itself doesn't start until sometime in August. First you have an initial phone interview, explain the role and get to know you more, after that you take an assessment. First half of the assessment consists of cognitive thinking questions like "Joe is older than Ann, Ann is older than Helen, Mike is the 2nd oldest, put these in order". It is timed so don't spend a lot of time on one question. The second half consists of personality questions, it will ask you a scenario and the scale goes from strongly agree-strongly disagree. After that, you have your 2nd phone interview which was behavior based. I'll list some examples below. After the phone interview if they like your answers you will be contacted to schedule an onsite interview with 2 hiring managers. They are laid back. Initially they want to get to know you and ask if you have any accomplishments outside the professional world that your proud about. Then they will go into behavior questions. I thought the interview went well and I was right. I was contacted about 3-4 weeks after with a job offer. As far as general interview questions go remember to read the job description and preferred qualifications and skills. Being that this is a financial sales and customer service job you need to have multiple responses based on the STAR approach Situation, Task, Action, and Result. IMHO, it's important to write these out and make them as detailed and interesting as possible. Have STAR examples of these: 1. Explain a time you had to explain a difficult subject to a customer? 2. Angry customer example and how did you handle it? 3. Adaptability (name a system change, manger changer etc) 4. Working as a team. (how you got in a disagreement with a group member how did you respond) 5. Explain a time when you went above and beyond? 6. Explain a time when you were creative 7. Why do you want to work for Wells Fargo and for this position? These are some of the questions I were asked throughout my process. Remember you need to have at least 5-6 STAR examples that can translate to a potential behavior question. It's a long process but be confident and patient. The recruiters were amazing and always answered any questions throughout the process. Keep in contact with them it shows your interested and really want the position. Good luck!
