      Senior Analyst Interview

      30 Apr 2013
      Anonymous employee
      Mumbai
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at eClerx (Mumbai) in Jan 2012

      Interview

To begin with : Ask a detail profile of what job you are applying. Analyst is a front end name but it is absolutely necessary to know what function you will be handling : for example reporting, live functions etc. Since its a KPO the exposure is limited in comparison to the captives you need to be aware of the pros and cons. There are two ways of getting recruited : You have the walk-in or the reference. Usually the references are very biased and you will definitely not get recruited if you do not have ties with the HR considering the bonuses and stuff that are attached to the reference policies Walk-ins are relatively easy: you will face two rounds : one by HR where the most basic and irrelevants questions will be asked. This is where you have to negotiate your position. Let me be very candid and clear about it : This company has the hierarchy of mount everest. It is imperative that you ask them what you are being placed at and ask them why in that position and not above it. If you have good work exp and a post grad degree do not opt for the junior positions and seek the managerial positions. This will save you the trouble of getting wrongly allocated and regret throughout. After the first round you will have the round with one of the managers : They will ask you basic question relevant to the position you are seeking for. If you have great communication skills and no knowledge you will be in. If you are pathetic in communication and have great knowledge you will be in. And if the formers do not apply you will be in regardless. They recruit everyone as long as you can converse in decent english and have a very basic and relevant knowledge. Make sure you negotiate your salary and fight for it. This is the most important factor you should be looking at. They will try to cap your salary or refuse to increment it, but fight for it. If they do not agree look out elsewhere. The learning curve in this company is not worth the pay if you are aggressive and are looking for big challenges.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Questions were not detailed. My resume spoke for me. Not a lot of detailed questions were asked. Basics of bonds and finance. Learn the basics of how global markets work and various products. Nothing more to learn here. You wont get to learn anything in the process after you join as well.

      Interview

It was a moderate level of interview , he asked me couple of quantitative based questions , some general questions and that’s it . I did not like the salary expectations though so I decided not to opt for it . It’s a third party company so it’s not a employee centric company
