Pros

During my time here I worked for the wildlife division, and pest control division of this company as a Customer Service Representative in the office. Both divisions had excellent management, and one thing that I appreciated the most is the open and honest communication between all team members and management. The team environment here is huge, and everyone always helps each other out. Management really lifts hard working team members up. They are big on building a career here, and reward team members that exhibit company values such as delivering 5-star service, approaching your work in the interest of human health and safety, approaching your work with a love of nature and a deep respect for all living things, going about your work with focus and good cheer, and other great values. The executive management team here genuinely cares about the well being of the employees, and have built a very positive and welcoming environment. For me, another job opportunity came up, but it was a tough choice to leave, because I really love my co-workers here, and think that the company is great. Every day was a new adventure, and if you like interacting with a very wide variety of clients and situations, you will enjoy this job!

Cons

Things can get stressful, especially in the busy season, but team members and management will always help.

Pros

You could not ask for better team members to work alongside with. The field department manager is also a very nice person and was always available for calls, texts, or to sit down and talk. The training is very thorough and is always reviewed until everyone knows it cold. I watched some of my friends and team mates grow and get promoted. I enjoyed interacting with customers and being able to make decisions to help them. I also love working outdoors.

Cons

Hard work. Ladders and roofs. A lot of driving. Weather conditions could challenge your mood sometimes in extreme heat or cold. When animal emergencies arise or another employee calls out, day can become extremely long during spring and summer. Overtime pay was good, but at some point you just want to be able to relax and see friends.

Pros

I started working here a little over two years ago and I planned to be here only for the summer, but what happened is that I was so impressed with my experience that what I planned to have as "just a job," became my career. I pasted the company's values below. When you visit my team, you will see that these values are posted all over the place. They're not just on the walls, we actually talk about them every day. If you have respect for excellence, you would be a good fit for my team. When I started working here, it took about four months to become very confident and able to perform my work with expertise. By the time I had been here 8 months, I was able to offer training to our newest team members on things like using our software system, stocking your company vehicle, safely using ladders, and other skills. Some of the best parts of the job are the way management views employee development, how solid the training is, the fact that everyone here is really positive and it's a very upbeat workplace. I also moved up very quickly and received four raises within two years. ABC Humane Wildlife Values ◦ We approach our work in the interest of human health and safety with a love of nature and a deep respect for all living things. ◦ We treat everyone with dignity and respect. ◦ We communicate completely, openly, clearly and honestly. ◦ Our team works through support and cooperation. ◦ We go about our work with focus and good cheer. ◦ We honor the relationships that connect our team, our clients and our community. ◦ We provide a clean and safe environment for our clients and our team members. ◦ We support the physical and emotional well-being of our clients and team members. ◦ We take pride in our commitment to provide quality service and a 5-star client experience. ◦ We are dedicated to learning, teaching, and ongoing development. ◦ We celebrate and reward accomplishments and “A+” players. ◦ We are a fiscally responsible company.

Cons

Days can run long if there are too many wildlife emergencies to respond to. Some days in the peak of the busiest season in the summer can be 12-hour days. You need physical skills, like being able to carry, place, and climb ladders. Safety equipment is provided.

Pros

I'm proud to work for a company who made very good decisions during the Corona virus crisis that kept its team members safe and functioning during this time when other people I know were out of work. That made me really appreciate the stableness of the company and that I'm lucky to work here. I like my job and my fellow work mates. Most of the customers are very nice and appreciative so it makes me feel very accomplished when they send in compliments or name me in their reviews. I like making people happy and being recognized and I feel like this company appreciates that about me.

Cons

There are so many really cool things about working with animals but it can also be emotional because some animals are overpopulated and the state requires them to be humanely put down. I don't have trouble with it overall but I have my moments where it's very touching and somber.

Pros

This is a very special place where people who care deeply find their community. I love working for this company because the focus is on science and team members, clients, and the community are treated with dignity and respect. You will not meet a nicer and more caring and committed group of people than the 100 team members who work here. This is an award winning company (tons of awards) and when you work here, you see why.

Cons

I wish that I was independently wealthy and didn't need to work, but alas that's not my lot in life. Since I do need to work, and work takes up one third of many people's lives, it's important to spend that time where you are happy, where you have friends, and where you take sincere pride in the company's mission. I guess my only con is that I have to work at all, but since I do, I feel fortunate to have a job and co-workers, and a company culture that I love to be a part of. This isn't really a con. It's more of a pro, but it's my reality.
