Instability and poor culture overshadow good management and colleagues
Pros
Had a good manager and workmates and enjoyed the facility I was based at.
Cons
Constant restructures and bringing in outside “talent” to improve things made employment feel unstable. It became clear to me that the lack of leadership and company culture was due to predominately female management and admin staff being micromanaged and bullied by male in senior management. The focus seemed to drift towards everyone being put under pressure to be hitting arbitrary KPIs which at best made working there feel like you were on your own instead of part of a team and working towards a common goal and at worst it felt like we were trying to complete projects in spite of some departments. No opportunity for internal development or promotion. No annual reviews undertaken despite being written into the contract. Didn’t do anything to retain clients in terms of entertainment and relationship building.
