The Business Development/Capture/Proposal departments need change. People always talk process, but no process has been set in stone as people always find a way around it. Too much drama and very unprofessional environment. You have to "fake it till you make it" in order to be somewhat successful here. Some individuals will step on others toes just to get the job done instead of working collaboratively and encouraging team work. No support from senior leadership as it is difficult to encourage new innovative ways to be successful. There is no strategy and leadership does not see the value in proper business development and capture management. Leadership would go after every RFP that drops, without even any proper preparation, which is a waste of B&P and resources. It was unfortunate that I thought I had a manager who I could trust, see as a mentor, and help me be successful within the company. Instead, this individual would talk badly about myself to other colleagues, and make false accusations and stories to make themselves look good.

Management does not know how to talk to their employees. Some are rude and condescending and lack the necessary soft skills in order to relate to their team. The focus is more on when something is done wrong rather then when something is done right. If an employee gets kudos from their client and the manager knows about it, the manager is tight lipped and they don't extend any applaud or appreciation but let something go wrong, they are quick to "meet with you." Terrible management approach. "Leadership" lacks diversity...not gender but rather race. There is only ONE African American male manager in the entire company, no black women at all. They have this guys picture on several company sites to try and sell diversity but that doesn't fool anyone.
