Good company!

Pros

The company offers a high level of flexibility and autonomy, allowing employees to take ownership of their work and contribute meaningfully. There is a strong focus on innovation, particularly around AI and continuous process improvement, which creates an environment where new ideas are encouraged and explored. Also, great exposure to work with major tech companies and multiple market coverage! One of the aspects I appreciate most is the emphasis on staying current with technology trends. The company regularly shares valuable insights and knowledge, helping employees learn and adapt in a fast-changing industry. The team culture is also a standout. Colleagues are supportive, respectful, and willing to help each other succeed. When challenges arise, there is generally an effort to understand the context behind issues and work collaboratively toward solutions rather than assigning blame.

Cons

As the company continues to grow, communication and alignment across teams could be improved. Greater clarity around project ownership, responsibilities, and accountability would help ensure smoother collaboration and execution. In addition, a more structured performance review process would be beneficial. Clearer expectations, regular feedback, and stronger focus on individual career development and growth opportunities would help employees better understand their progression and long-term potential within the organization.

Pros

- Flexible remote work arrangement and autonomy - Strong focus on AI and innovation, with opportunities to experiment with new tools/processes - Management is open to new ideas and feedback - Fast-paced environment with exposure to different projects

Cons

Priorities and direction can shift quickly depending on market conditions, and processes may still be evolving and not always fully structured - but this is typical of startups, and not necessarily a con

Pros

I don't have any, I left after a few months as soon as I received an offer from a different company. Some of the colleagues were nice, and I hope they will leave too as soon as they can. They are too good for that company.

Cons

Avoid this employer. They are new to the Portuguese market and will lie about their projects to get senior candidates to join their endeavours. They are looking for senior hires, but they don't offer benefits, the pay does not match the workload. They are pushing an AI agenda towards their main client, Google, but they completely misunderstood the project they assigned me on and continuously added more work to my plate to fit their AI agenda. They are supposed to outstaff you for Google projects, but they demand a lot of your time for internal projects. The employees who are not working directly on Google projects are just there to show face and waste your time with internal requests, games, or other things that will lead you to work overtime. The managers from this will 100% micromanage you.

Algomarketing Response

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Algomarketing is an AI-native company, and AI innovation is not a side project here. It is core to everything we do. We are transparent about this from the very first conversation: every Algo joins knowing that building, experimenting, and embedding AI into the way we work is part of the role, not an add-on. For the right person, this is an incredible opportunity to future-proof their career and develop skills that are becoming increasingly rare and valuable. We invest heavily in making sure our people stay at the forefront of AI proficiency, and many of our team consider this one of the most meaningful parts of working here. We recognise that this environment is not for everyone. For people after a more traditional model of work, Algomarketing will feel intense. We are building something genuinely new, and that comes with pace, ambiguity, and high expectations. That said, there was a clear opportunity for us to better support this individual through that transition, and we have taken that feedback onboard. To anyone reading this: we encourage you to speak to our team and explore what life at Algomarketing actually looks like. We are proud of what we are building, and we are always looking for people who are ready to be part of it. Thank you again - we appreciate the review. We're sorry the role didn't turn out to be the right fit, and we wish you the very best in your next chapter.
