Pros

Good pay, work life balance and hours. Coworkers are great and so are most managers.

Cons

Typical corporate company. Unannounced shifts in managers, coworkers getting moved to other teams. Hiring waves and lots of new employees.

Pros

The company offers excellent work-life balance perks, most notably an alternative work schedule with every other Friday off and a paid year-end holiday shutdown, providing fantastic opportunities to recharge. Additionally, the corporate benefits package is comprehensive and highly competitive, featuring the incredible convenience of an on-site health clinic for everyday wellness. In the current economic climate, the company also provides a reassuring level of job stability. Finally, the core peer group is genuinely great to work alongside; while accountability can sometimes be an issue—with some individuals visibly slacking off or watching TV at their desks, the overall team remains friendly, collaborative, and supportive.

Cons

There is blatant favoritism within my group. I know this firsthand because the Senior Manager actually favored me. However, this favoritism came at a toxic cost to others. We had a senior-level female colleague in our group who was incredibly professional, hardworking, and a vital mentor to the team. The senior manager would ask me questions and how things are going in an upbeat manner, but when speaking with her he is very cold and seems like he is just going through the motion. The senior manager unfairly burdened her with a heavy workload, while other members of the group would literally sit at their desks and visibly watch TV. On multiple occasions, the Senior Manager spoke unprofessionally aggressive and defensively to her for no reason. He seemed visibly bothered whenever she asked for clarity on projects, questions that I, and others, were too afraid to ask him ourselves. The breaking point occurred when our manager publicly yelled at and ridiculed her in front of the entire team during a discussion about work. The way he made her feel small was a frequent occurrence, and it made the entire team deeply uncomfortable. We even discussed the incident privately afterward because we were so shaken by it. I deeply regret that I didn't speak up in her defense at the moment. A few weeks later, she quit. It felt entirely like management was intentionally trying to force a hard worker out, which makes no sense because she supported the team, kept morale high, and got things done. Since she left, the atmosphere has tanked. Instead of addressing the management issues, our Director now walks around the office at the end of the day to catch people on their phones and sends disciplinary emails. The coworker who left was the true embodiment of what our company culture should be. Her morale visibly declined over time what I assume was due to this treatment. She became almost silent. Losing her is a disappointment.

Pros

Great place to work. Most colleagues are hired to fit the culture. A lot of emphasis from upper management on employee etiquette. Salaried increased recently to be more competitive. Benefits are great. Overall awesome place to work.

Cons

New CEO doesn't allow work from home, but most managers are very accommodating.

Pros

- A lot of exposure to engineering problems, you will learn a lot fast - Competitive PTO and 401K company match - End of year plant shutdown in December - Manager is willing to listen and address concerns

Cons

- Compensation is based on years experience, not on overall responsibility or value you bring to the company. This is frustrating when your job is more important to the company and stressful, but you get paid the same amount as your peers who spend their time chitchatting in the office constantly. - New employees are making almost as much as I am and I have a Master's Degree - Upper management are stingy on overtime pay. Every task is a priority to them, but there isn't enough time in the day. But, they won't authorize overtime pay. - The company doesn't provide any resources for our office break-rooms.
